Bush Gives Job To Another Cincinnatian
Ex-Chiquita Executive Also Worked For Bush Sr.
President-elect George W. Bush announced Thursday that Cincinnati's
Joseph Hagin has been appointed as the
assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff of operations.
"Joe Hagin's experience, insight and judgment have been valuable assets
during the
campaign and they will be very helpful to my administration. I look forward
to Joe's
leadership guiding my administration and White House," Bush said.
ChannelCincinnati.com reports that Hagin was an executive and a spokesman
for
Chiquita during its 1998 battle with The Cincinnati Enquirer.
Hagin has long been involved in Republican politics. He served in various
capacities
during the George H. W. Bush and Ronald Reagan administrations, and was
a
personal aide to Bush Sr. from 1981-83.
Hagin is also active in Hamilton County politics, and was the Chairman of the Portman For Congress campaign from 1993 through December 2000. Hagin was the deputy campaign manager for Bush-Cheney 2000 c
